downloadin.online is a small, independent web tool for saving videos you have the right to save — your own uploads, Creative Commons material, and clips you have permission to archive. No app, no account, no up-sell to a "pro" plan.

Why we built it

Every major platform has an official way to get your video back out — Google Takeout, TikTok's data export, Instagram's "Download your information". They all share the same shortcomings: they cover only your own content, they arrive hours or days later as a large archive, and the one-click options either stamp a watermark on the file or can be switched off by the uploader.

Meanwhile the tools filling that gap are mostly a wall of pop-ups, fake download buttons and "install our extension to continue" prompts. We wanted the boring version: one input box, the real format list, a file, and a page that does not fight you.

That is the entire pitch. The site is run by a two-person team and paid for out of pocket and modest advertising. If something is broken, a real person reads the contact form.

What we commit to

No account, ever

There is no sign-up, no email capture and no login wall. You paste a link and get a file. Nothing about the tool needs to know who you are, so we do not ask.

Files are not kept

Downloads are prepared on demand and streamed to you. Temporary files are removed once the transfer finishes; we do not build a library of what anyone has downloaded.

Public links only

The tools work with publicly accessible URLs. We do not bypass paywalls, DRM, private-account restrictions or age verification, and we will not add features that do.

The official route first

Where a platform offers its own export or offline mode, we say so and point you there. Our guides list those options before ours, because they are better files with fewer strings attached.

How a download actually works

Five steps, no magic. Worth knowing if you have ever wondered why 4K takes longer than 1080p.

    You paste a URL

    The link is sent to our server over HTTPS. It is used to look up the video and is not stored against any profile.

    We read the formats

    The server queries the platform for the list of streams the uploader actually published — resolutions, codecs, audio tracks and file sizes.

    You pick one

    You choose the format and quality. Nothing is downloaded until you do, so browsing options costs nothing.

  4. 4

    We fetch and merge

    Above 1080p, video and audio are stored separately by the platform. We download both and merge them into one playable file before handing it over.

    The file streams to you

    The result is streamed straight to your browser and the temporary copy on our side is deleted.

Where we stand on copyright

A downloader is a tool, and the tool is not what makes a copy acceptable — the licence is. We ask you to use downloadin.online only for content you own, content published under a licence that permits reuse, or content you have explicit permission to save. Re-uploading or monetising someone else's work is not something we support, and it is a breach of our Terms of Use.

Rights-holders can reach us through the copyright and DMCA page, and we respond to valid notices.
